MAJOR NEWS OUTLETS
Media Interviews
These invited interviews helped stimulate societal paradigm shift about regional and foreign accents, develop evidence-based practice of accent modification, and educate/create awareness through social commentary and research. Some of the interviews also helped highlight and bring awareness to the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology, as well as speech science, linguistics, and psychology. Being identified by the media as the “go-to expert” is a clear evidence of 1) the value of my research area, 2) recognized expertise, and 3) impact on the wider community. My profession awarded me with the Media Championship Award in 2017 to honor and recognize these contributions.
