In the last couple of years I have expanded my research and clinical contributions to go beyond improving clarity of external communication (speech, accent, voice, training listeners) to training my clients and students in their internal communication (thoughts, feelings, beliefs, perceptions).
In 25+ years of my clinical and teaching practice, I have come to see that no matter how speech-language pathologists try to help improve the external communication and execution of speech and language, there will always be limitations to a person's success until the inner language and communication are improved. Therefore, I have spent the last few years immersed in the world of self-help, healing and spirituality.
I have designed my own research and training programs that have helped many hospital clients as well as fellow professors and students. What has emerged out of this rigorous study, research, and coaching clients are two new lines of my contributions since 2018: 1) Emotional Intelligence & Resilience, and 2) Health and Wellness through Poetry.
